Obituary for Heather Wojciak Parry

Medway, MA - It is with great shock and sorrow that we announce that Heather Jean Gordon Wojciak Parry went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, August 17th, 2018. Heather was the beloved daughter and only child of Kenneth and Katherine Gordon of North Syracuse, New York.

She was a 1952 graduate of North Syracuse High School. While in her senior year of high school she worked at Crouse Hinds in the business office. After graduation, she continued to work at Crouse Hinds; with the added bonus of meeting our Dad, Neil, a co-worker who stole her favorite dessert, chocolate pie. Their 58 year marriage included three children; Neil, Jr., Nora and Kent. Heather was a stay at home Mom, who loved caring for her children. Her happiest days were spent raising her children and sacrificing her personal needs for the needs of her family.

After the passing of her son Neil Jr. and husband, Neil, she stayed in their Gloucester home of 30 years. It eventually became too difficult to stay in the Gloucester house, so Heather moved to daughter Nora’s house in May 2015. She reconnected with her high school sweetheart, James Parry, and they married on June 7, 2016. Heather and Jim enjoyed a wonderful year of happiness until Jim had a stroke in July of 2017. Since February of this year, Heather renewed her love of children by living with her son, Kent, and his wife Lori, helping to take care of her great grandson, CJ.

Heather (aka Mom, Mumsy or more recently Mopster) will be missed more than words can express. We are grateful that she went peacefully and on her terms. We are grateful to the EMT’s for their efforts to revive Mom, and to Lori who administered CPR until the EMT’s arrived. We are also indebted to Richard Buma of the Buma Sargeant Funeral Home in Milford, MA for his assistance.

Heather is survived by her son, Kent Wojciak, his wife Lori, grandson Clayton and great grandson C.J.; she is also survived by her daughter, Nora McNeil and her son in law, Scott McNeil and her grandson, Tyler Semmel.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 10 AM at The Lanesville Congregational Church, 1120 Washington Street, Gloucester, MA 01930.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Care Dimensions (formerly Hospice of the North Shore) 75 Sylvan Street #B102 Administrative Offices, 2764, Danvers, MA 01923 or Cape Ann Animal Aid— 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930.

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3
