Obituary for Patricia J. Remillard

Patricia “Pat” J. (Small) Remillard, 86, of Uxbridge passed away peacefully on the 26th of August, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Rockland, Maine, and moved with her family to Whitinsville when she was three. Patricia is the daughter of the late Cecil E. and Blanche (Carr) Small. She graduated from Northbridge High School in Northbridge and was married to the love of her life, James J. Remillard on June 7, 1952. Patricia and James began raising their family in Whitinsville and moved to Uxbridge in 1962. Patricia and James were married 66 years.

During the time Patricia was raising her family, she took on the position of Key Punch Operator at Whitin Machine Works in Whitinsville. Later, she entered in a career as Supervisor at Table Talk Pie in Worcester. After raising her family, she became an Administrative Assistant at Dun and Bradstreet Software in Natick.

Patricia was a wonderful role model as loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a devoted parishioner of The United Presbyterian Church in Whitinsville for more than 70 years. She served as one of the first female Elders in the United Presbyterian Church in Whitinsville and also was a dedicated member of the Church’s Katherine Houston Mission Circle. Patricia was also a choir member for many years.

Patricia loved to travel and had taken many cruises with her husband, James, to Hawaii, Panama Canal, a Transatlantic voyage to Norway/Iceland and multiple cruise excursions to the Caribbean. Foxy Travel trips and domestic mystery tours were a memorable part of her life as well. Patricia had a great smile and witty sense of humor. She always had a passion for sports and enjoyed cheering on her favorite players. Back in the days of the Big Bad Boston Bruins it was Bobby Orr. More recently it was the Boston Red Sox and Dustin Pedroia. Patricia passed down her passion for sports to her children but Patricia’s greatest enjoyment came from her family and the time spent at many family gatherings.

Patricia will be lovingly missed by her beloved husband, James J. Remillard; her 4 children, Gary and his wife Barbara of Millbury, Kenneth and his wife Barbara of Millbury, Robert and his wife Alicia of Rutland and Debra and her husband Marc of York, ME; 10 grandchildren including Lynne (and her husband Scott), Andrew (and his wife Kyla), Courtney, Matthew (and his wife Jennifer), William, Kaylee, Ian, Ella, Cassidy, and Halle; 1 great-grandchild, Wesley, and many nieces, nephews and cherished friends. She is predeceased by her sister, Nancy (Small) Arguin.

The family would like to thank St. Camillus Nursing Home and the Deacons of the United Presbyterian Church of Whitinsville for their kind and compassionate care provided to Pat over the past several months.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 5-8 PM in the Buma Funeral Home, 101 N. Main St, Rte. 122, Uxbridge.

Patricia’s Life Journey will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, August 31, 2018 at the United Presbyterian Church, 51 Cottage St, Whitinsville.

Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Granite St., Uxbridge.

In lieu of flowers, charitable memorial donations may be made to The United Presbyterian Church, Whitinsville, MA with special intentions directed to the Peace of Bread, Food Pantry, Deacon Program, or Homeless Shelter Program. www.bumafuneralhome.com
