Obituary for Lucas R. Dewar

Lucas Richard Dewar, who was affectionately called "Lukey" by those closest to him, gained his angel wings on May 3rd , 2018 at Hasbro Children’s Hospital after a sudden battle with Pneumonia. He was 13 months old.

Lucas was born on March 27, 2017 in Providence, RI. He absolutely adored his older brother, Dylan, and smiled ear to ear whenever he saw him. He loved people and had an infectious laugh that always brought tears of laughter to all of those around him. He was incredibly social and always earned smiles and waves from strangers wherever he went. As he grew bigger, he simply wanted to investigate everything around him, especially his two cats who he would chase around the house. His family joked that he was 'trouble' because he was always so curious and quick to get into things. He loved experiencing new things such as exploring outside, splashing around in the pool and swinging on the swing set. Lucas was an absolute joy who filled his home with laughter and love each and every moment. We know he is watching over us now and will forever be in our hearts.

Lucas is survived by his loving parents Courtney and Benjamin Dewar and his big brother Dylan. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Richard and Dianne Wolstencroft of Smithfield, RI; paternal grandparents Peter and Jean Dewar of Grafton; a maternal great-grandfather Joseph Giuliano of Smithfield, RI; an uncle Matthew Dewar of Auburn, MA and his children Matty and Lily; a great-aunt and uncle Carol and Steve Damiano as well as their son Dante, all of Smithfield, RI; Lucas also leaves behind many extended family and friends, all who loved him dearly.

Funeral services will be private.
