Obituary for Marcia M. Banderet

Marcia M. (Rodenbiker) Banderet, 75, of Northbridge passed away April 18, 2018 at UMass Medical Center, Worcester.

She was born in Jan. 3, 1943 in Cando, ND and was the daughter of the late John and Shirley (Nord) Rodenbiker. She earned her teaching degree from Concordia College.MN and her Master’s Degree in Education from Lesley University in MA.

Mrs Banderet was a resident of Milford for 45 years. She was a teacher in the Milford Schools for over 30 years with most of her career at Milford Middle School East teaching 8th grade ESL. She also owned and operated Teacher Works, a student tutorial service in Milford for many years. She previously worked as a stay-at-home mom and daycare provider. She loved teaching children and touched many lives.

Mrs. Banderet was an active longtime member of Christ The King Lutheran Church in Holliston and would often volunteer her time and talents over the years. She was a Sunday School teacher and the church's youth music director. She also enjoyed knitting for the church’s Prayer Shawl Ministry and had also been a member of the church choir for many years. In 2017, she was certified as a Lay minister.

She had been a Cub Scout Den Mother and had also been a member of the Milford Garden Club. Some of her favorite past times were reading, singing, playing the piano, and traveling. She was very social and loved spending time with friends and family. Her smile and positive energy will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Paul M. and his wife Sally Banderet of Northbridge, Tanya L. and her husband Robson Paixao of Worcester and Suzanne M. and her husband Michael Lytwynec of N. Kingstown, RI; two brothers, Ronald Rodenbiker of Rocklake, ND and Darcy Rodenbiker of Bloomington, MN; a sister, Dianne Garber of Cedar Rapids, IA; two grandchildren, Ethan Paixao of Worcester and Trent Murphy who is currently serving in the U.S. Army; her former husband Dr. Louis E. Banderet of Milford, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Joshua Banderet and a brother, John Rodenbiker.

Visiting hours will be held Thurs. April 26, 2018 from 4-7 PM in the BUMA-SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress St., Milford.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11 AM in Christ the King Lutheran Church, 600 Central Street, Holliston.
