Obituary for Valerie C. Hakins

Valerie C. (Blaisdell) Hakins, 61, of Blackstone passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, in Worcester. She was the beloved and devoted wife of Roger L. Hakins, Sr.

Mrs. Hakins had been employed at Home Goods for 11 years, as well as, an excellent housewife who took great pride in maintaining a well-kept, comfortable home.

Valerie was born April 30, 1957 in Boston to Claire (MacDonald) Blaisdell and the late Frederick L. Blaisdell. She was a graduate of Holliston High School and had been a resident of Blackstone for the past 25 years.

She looked forward to her annual vacations in Maine. She found her biggest enjoyment in life was spending time with her husband, her family, but most especially her children and beloved grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of 42 years, she is survived by her three sons: Roger Jr. and his wife Bonnie of CT., Shawn and his wife Ashley of Boston, Daniel and his wife Jillian of West Boylston, as well as her three cherished grandchildren: Gabriella, James, and Cameron. In addition, she leaves behind her mother, Claire Blaisdell of Milford and five siblings: Betty Ann Hawley, Donald Blaisdell, Frederick Blaisdell, Scott Blaisdell all of Milford, MA & James Blaisdell of Uxbridge, MA. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Christopher Hawley.

Funeral services will be private.
