Obituary for Katherine M. Daige

Katherine M. Daige, 69, of Hopedale passed away Tues. December 18, 2018 at Milford Regional Medical Center, Milford.

A lifelong resident of Hopedale, Kathy taught third grade in the Raynham schools and was a substitute teacher for many years before changing careers. She was a service representative and later a manager at the former New England Telephone Co. for 29 years.

She was born in Milford in 1949 to the late Herbert A. and Helen (Oates) Daige. She was a graduate of Hopedale High School, class of 1967 and Framingham State College.

Kathy was devoted to her family and loved her time spent with them, most recently with her great-great nieces Leila and Lydia. She volunteered at the Milford Daily Food Pantry, grocery shopped for the Hopedale Council of Aging, and knitted for various charitable organizations. Kathy loved her New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. She loved traveling, especially to St. Kitts in the Caribbean. She also loved time spent at her lake house in Douglas where she hosted many “Birthday Bashes”, watched her hummingbird friends, and created lasting family memories boating, fishing, and swimming. She captured these moments with many photos and enjoyed scrapbooking them.

Kathy is survived by her fiancé Lee Lyons, two brothers, Richard H. Daige and Thomas A. and his wife Carol Daige all of Hopedale; brother-in-law Henry Robidoux; three sisters-in-law, Joan Randall, Lynne Lyons and Judith Lavery; nieces and nephews including, Karen Daige, John (Deb) Robidoux, Mary Kate (Gonzalo) Villacres, Lynne (Chris) Dodge, Peach Robidoux, Thomas M.
