Obituary for Debbie Lee Smith

Debbie Lee (Heffernan) Smith, 61, of Sutton passed away Wed. January 30, 2019 at her home. She was the wife of Richard B. Smith.

Debbie owned and operated Business Accounting and Tax Consultants in Milford since 1990. Previously, she worked as a bookkeeper there prior to purchasing the business. She loved her job and was dedicated to her clients. She possessed an uncanny memory to recall the smallest details to help her clients. She was also an enrolled agent certified in accounting by the IRS.

She was born in 1957 in Pascoag, RI, the daughter of Henry Heffernan of Uxbridge and Joyce (Cartier) Heffernan of Whitinsville and was resident of Sutton for the past 13 years. Previously, she lived in Northbridge.

Debbie enjoyed hanging out with her close circle of friends. Occasionally, she enjoyed trips with her husband on Chevelle car club rallies.

In addition to her husband, Richard for 43 years and her parents, Henry and Joyce, she is survived by her two sisters, Patricia Heffernan of Uxbridge and Julie Ackert of Gardner and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Mass Lyme Foundation, 210 Park Ave. Suite 143, Worcester, MA 01609 (www.centralmasslyme.org). Arrangements by Buma Funeral Homes, Whitinsville.
