Obituary for Margaret "Peggy" Donnellan

Margaret M. “Peggy” (Novotny) Donnellan, 73, of Hopkinton, formerly of Milford passed away on Tues. Feb. 13, 2018 with her family by her side at Golden Pond Assisted Living. She was the wife of the late Brian J. Donnellan, who died in 2007.

Most recently employed as a medical credentialing specialist at Marlborough Hospital, Peggy previously had worked as a development specialist at New England Center for Children in Southborough for many years.

Peggy was born Dec. 22, 1944 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of the late Frank and Mae (Forsyth) Novotny. She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in St. Louis and St. Louis University. Peggy moved to Boston in the late 1960s, where she met and married her beloved husband, Brian. They soon relocated to Vernon, CT, and later to Milford, where they lived for many years. Peggy moved to Hopkinton two years ago.

Known always for her kindness, sharp wit and incredible creativity, Peggy touched the lives of everyone she met. In addition to her regular employment, Peggy owned her own business, Creative Communications, where she specialized in personalized graphic design. She enjoyed movies, novels, poetry, coffee and lunches with friends, and especially time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Peggy is survived by two daughters, Amy Breguet and her husband Charlie of Southampton, and Katie Shaughnessy and her husband Kevin of Maynard, her sister, Frances M. Novotny of St. Louis, MO, her brother-in-law Gerald T. Donnellan and his wife Gay of Wenham, five beloved grandchildren, Hope, Casey and Joseph Breguet of Southampton and Grace and Violet Shaughnessy of Maynard, her beloved nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Sat. Feb. 17, 2018 from 10-11 AM in the BUMA SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress St., Milford followed by a funeral service at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cedar St. (Rt.85), Milford.
