Obituary for Louise B. McGovern

Louise B. (Gravier) McGovern, 91, of Whitinsville passed away Sat. June 2, 2018 in the Milford Regional Medical Center, Milford. She was the wife of the late James J. McGovern who died in 1991.

Mrs. McGovern was employed as an assembler for Waters Assoc. in Milford for 13 years, retiring in 1992. Previously, she was employed at the former General Electric’s Telecron Corp. in Ashland for 23 years.

Mrs. McGovern was born in Les Mesnules, France on April 17, 1927, daughter of the late Eugene and Germaine (Liard) Gravier and was educated in France. She had been a resident of Hopkinton and Upton before moving to Northbridge. Louise enjoyed traveling and was an avid walker.

Mrs. McGovern is survived by two sons; Patrick J. McGovern and Michael J. McGovern both of Blackstone, one daughter Diane L. Chauvin of Smithfield, RI, 2 brothers; Fernand Gravier, and Raymond Gravier both of France, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by one son Philippe B. McGovern, one sister Denise Tondeur and one brother, Gaston Gravier.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 5-7 PM in the BUMA-SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress St., Milford.

A funeral Mass will be Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 20 Church St., Hopkinton. Please go directly to church.
