Obituary for Joseph J. Gillespie, Jr.

Joseph J. Gillespie, Jr., 29, of Whitinsville passed away Mon. April 23, 2018 in the UMass Medical Center, Worcester following injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident.

Joe had worked for Bob’s Tree Service in Uxbridge for the past 3 years where he enjoyed the hard work and climbing. He loved riding his motorcycle, tinkering with cars and bikes, enjoyed camping and canoeing, and liked to be outside. On occasion and with a daring smile, he also liked to push things to the limits. He also enjoyed just hanging out with his buddies drinking a couple beers. He was the guy who always would be there to lend a hand.

His life truly centered around and was devoted to his children and girlfriend.

He was born in Worcester in 1988 and was the son of Lisa (Corey) Gillespie of Pascoag, RI and the late Joseph J. Gillespie, Sr.

In addition to his mother Lisa, he is survived by his girlfriend Cassie J. Martin, a son Joey Gillespie, and a daughter Gia Gillespie all at home; two brothers Sean Corey and Johnathan Corey; a sister Leah Gillespie of Pascoag, and many dear family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday April 28, 2018 at 11 AM in the Valley Chapel, 14 Hunter Rd., Uxbridge. There are no visiting hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations for Joe’s children may be made to the Joseph Gillespie, Jr. Fund, c/o Unibank for Savings, P.O. Box 473, Douglas, MA 01516. Arrangements by Buma Funeral Homes, Uxbridge. www.bumafuneralhome.com
