Obituary for Joseph C. Page

Kings Point, NY/Whitinsville, MA - Joseph C. Page, 89, passed away May 3, 2018 in Roslyn, NY. He was the beloved husband of Eleanor (Parsons) Page.

Joe Page was a Private Investigator and owned and operated Patrol & Guard Enterprises in Long Island City, NY for many years until his retirement in 1996. He had also worked for Ray Schindler, the renowned private investigator.

Joseph was born Dec. 22, 1928 in the Lower East Side, New York City, NY, son of the late Joseph and Anne (Pendar) Pagano. He had been a resident of Kings Point, NY for 59 years.

Joseph and Eleanor Page celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary this past March.

Joe Page was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.

Joe Page was physically active throughout his entire life. In his youth he was an accomplished speed skater. He was a North Atlantic Medalist and competed in the annual Silver Skates at Madison Square Garden. During the summer months he trained with a bicycle club to keep in shape for the winter speed skating season.
Joe and Eleanor’s interest in following automobile racing began with their belated honeymoon at the 1951 Indianapolis 500. They remained avid fans of sprint car racing throughout their entire lives.
He loved skiing and skating with his family. His passion was sailing the Long Island Sound, Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard and the Cape Cod area with his family and friends.
He was an avid reader of history and biographies, and was a devoted ice hockey fan. In his retirement he liked to travel and enjoyed sports.

In addition to his wife Eleanor, he is survived by his son Joseph J. Page of Kings Point, NY; his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Patrick Hickey of Huntsville, Ontario Canada; 3 grandchildren, Jacqueline, Gilles and Stephen Hickey; his sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Stan Rakowicz and family.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday May 10, 2018 from 4-7 pm at the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 480 Church Street, Whitinsville, MA.

Funeral services will be held Friday May 11, 2018 at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Whitinsville, MA.

Memorial donations in Mr. Page's memory may be made to St. Francis Hospital Foundation, c/o Office of Development, 100 Port Washington Blvd., Roslyn, NY 11576.
