Jose “Cheo” Perez Silva
Milford- Jose “Cheo” Perez Silva, 87, passed away on March 16, 2008 at the Westborough Health Care Center, Westborough. He was the husband of Lydia Medal of Milford.
Jose was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on Feb. 6, 1921 the son of the late Nicolas Perez and Marcola Silva.
He worked as a butcher for 40 years at “Plaza Del Mercado” in Puerto Rico. Mr. Perez Silva has been a resident of Milford for 20 years.
He is survived by 13 Children: Rosa L. Perez and Isabel Rodriguez of FL., Marcola Hernandez of Franklin, Angel L. Perez and Elsie Rios of PR, Claudia and Ana L. Perez of Woonsocket, Esther Ortiz of Worcester, Virginia Santana, Natividad Gonzalez and Miguel Perez, all of Milford, Jose Perez Jr. and Ruthie Perez of NY and many caring in-laws. He was pre-deceased by two children, Maria Perez and Samuel Perez. He has over 107 grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Perez Silva was a member of the Family Worship Center of Milford.
His life was music. He had a music group called “Los Pleneros Del Oeste” and then when he was born again and loved God with all his heart, he had another group called “Los Cedros Del Libano”. Mr. Perez Silva was a singer and author of most of his songs and played the Puerto Rican “Pandereta”.
Funeral services will be held Wed. March 19, 2008 at 10 AM
at the BUMA SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress St., Milford, MA 01757. Burial will follow in Vernon Grove Cemetery, Vernon St. Milford.
Visiting hours will be Tues. March 18, 2008 from 5-8 PM with a Prayer Service to be held at 6:30 PM in the Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress Street, Milford.
