Edward G. Stewart
Milford – Edward G. Stewart, 64, of Brookfield Rd. died Wed. July 14, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Kerry (Colgan) Stewart.
Mr. Stewart was an Information Systems Manager for Ametek/G.E. in Wilmington, MA for 40 years before retiring in 2009.
Edward was born Nov. 3, 1945 in Cambridge the son of the late George W. and Helen (Mead) Stewart. He had been a resident of Allston and Wakefield before moving to Milford in 1973. Mr. Stewart was a graduate of B.C. High School, Boston, Class of 1963. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Economics in 1968 and his M.B.A. in Finance in 1970 both from Northeastern University in Boston. Mr. Stewart was a scout master and was very active in the former Boy Scout, Troop # 432 in Milford. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Milford. Edward’s favorite hobby was working on his computer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son; Jeffrey J. and his wife Tracy Bennett Stewart of Medway, two daughters; Jennifer M. Stewart of Easton and Caitlin N. Stewart of Milford, one sister, Maryellen Corbett of Olney, MD, his mother-in-law, Kathryn Colgan of Northbridge, one granddaughter, Brenna Stewart and 2 nephews, Dan and Bill Corbett.
Funeral services will be held Monday July 19, 2010 at 9 AM from the BUMA-SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress St., Milford, MA 01757 followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 10 AM in St., Mary’s Church, 19 Winter St., Milford.
Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington at a later date.
Visiting hours will be Sunday, July 18, 2010 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM in the funeral home.
