Milford – Russell W. Quinn, 79, of Milford died Thursday, June 28, 2012 in Milford Regional Medical Center, Milford. He was the husband of Elaine J. (Perry) Quinn.
Mr. Quinn was employed for 35 years at Texaco Inc., retiring in 1992.
He was born March 20, 1933 in Providence, RI, son of the late Ernest R. and Marjorie M. (Southwick) Quinn. He was a graduate of Cranston High School, class of 1950.
Mr. Quinn had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. & Mrs. Quinn observed their 53rd wedding anniversary on August 23, 2011.
Russell loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed woodworking, crossword puzzles, was an avid Red Sox fan, and attended the First United Methodist Church in Milford.
In addition to his wife Elaine, he is survived by a son Jeffrey A. Quinn of Wilmington, NC; a daughter Sally C. and her husband Joseph T. Hurley of Upton; a brother Rev. Peter D. Quinn and his wife Janet of Torrington, CT and 2 grandchildren, Sarah Marie Hurley and Sean Patrick Hurley both of Upton.
Funeral services, with full military honors, will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11 AM in the Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress St., Milford.
Burial will follow in Vernon Grove Cemetery, Milford.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 10 – 11 AM, prior to the service in the funeral home.
