Dorothy A. Wright


Milford – Dorothy A. “Dottie” (Barr) Wright, 76, died Fri. July 23, 2010 in the Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of Donald C. Wright.

Mrs. Wright had been employed at the Mother Hubbard School in Milford for several years before her retirement in 1999. She had previously worked as the head cook at the Evergreen Center in Milford. Dottie had also been employed at Waters Associates in Milford, the former Hopedale Garden Nursing Home in Hopedale, GE/Telechron in Ashland and the former Stylon Corp. of Milford.

Mrs. Wright was born Nov. 30, 1933 in Uxbridge the daughter of the late Warner and Dorothy (Chandler) Barr and had been a resident of Milford for more than 50 years. She was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1953. Dottie had been a long time member of the First Congregational Church of Milford and was a Sunday School Teacher for many years.

Mr. and Mrs. Wright observed their 53rd wedding anniversary in Sept. 2009.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons; Larry J. and his wife Theresa Wright, Donald P. and his wife Kelly Wright all of Lincoln, RI., Dennis C. Wright of Uxbridge and Raymond J. Wright of Upton, one brother; Richard Barr of Milford, four sisters; Claire Fisher and Marion Peloquin both of Douglas, Carol Castagnaro of Webster, Eleanor Barr of Mansfield, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by four brothers; William Barr, Fred Barr, Gordon Barr and Russell Barr.

Funeral services will be held Tues. July 27, 2010 at 10 AM in the BUMA SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress St, Milford, MA 01757.

Burial will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery, Route 16, Hopedale.

Visiting hours will be Mon. July 26, 2010 from 5-8 PM in the funeral home.
