Whitinsville – Edith W. (Gaskill) Sainio, 90, of Heritage Dr. died Mon. July 19, 2010 in the St. Camillus Health Care Center in Whitinsville. She was the wife of the late William A. Sainio who died in 1999.

Mrs. Sainio was a sales associate at the W.T. Grant Co. in Milford for 15 years. She was later employed by the McDonald’s Restaurant on Rte. 140 in Milford for 14 years before her retirement in 1985.

Mrs. Sainio was born June 21, 1920 in Milford, daughter of the late Clayton and Ruth (Prouty) Gaskill and had been a lifelong resident of Hopedale before moving to Whitinsville in 1985. Mrs. Sainio graduated from Hopedale High School in 1938 and attended the Worcester Girls Trade School in Worcester where she studied cafeteria catering. She was a longtime member of the Union Evangelical Church in Hopedale and a former member of the First United Methodist Church Couples Club in Milford.

She is survived by one son Ronald W. Sainio of Whitinsville and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Sat. July 24, 2010 at 11 AM in the Fairlawn Christian Reformed Church, 305 Goldthwaite Rd., Whitinsville 01588.

Burial will be private in the Hopedale Village Cemetery, Hopedale.
