Robert L. Woodbury


Milford – Robert L. Woodbury, 91, of Claflin St. died Fri. July 9, 2010 in the Blaire House of Milford. He was the husband of Helen (Foulkes) Woodbury who died in 1989.

Mr. Woodbury was the Chief Engineer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Land Court for 40 years before his retirement in 1981.

Mr. Woodbury was born April 6, 1919 in Newton the son of the late Robert L. Woodbury and Helene (Nugent) Woodbury Barton. He had been a resident of Needham for many years before moving to the Milford/Hopedale area 15 years ago. Robert was a graduate of Boston Latin High School and had attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

Mr. Woodbury was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed spending time with his family in Denmark, ME.

Mr. Woodbury is survived by one son; Peter L. and his wife Kathleen Woodbury of Milford, one daughter; Carol Vash Spritz and her husband Ken Spritz of Westwood, 3 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Tues. July 13, 2010 at 10 AM in the BUMA-SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress St., Milford, MA 01757.

Burial will follow in Vine Hill Cemetery, Samoset St., Plymouth, MA.

Visiting hours will be Tues. July 13, 2010 from 9-10 AM in the funeral home prior to the service.
