William A. Duhaime
Uxbridge – William A. Duhaime, 66, of West Hill Rd. died Sun. May 30, 2010 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center after a long illness. He was the husband of Gloria M. (Roy) Duhaime.
Mr. Duhaime was employed as a Logistics Engineer for Raytheon Co. for 41 years, retiring in 2006. He had also worked part time for the Extra Mart in Sutton.
He was born Sept. 17, 1943 in Natick, son of the late William G. and Mary (O’Day) Duhaime. Raised in Needham, he was a graduate of Needham High School, Class of 1961, and had attended Northeastern University.
Mr. Duhaime had served in the U.S. Navy and was part of the Cuban Blockade.
Bill was a past commander of the Medway VFW Post #1526, Past Commander of the Bellingham VFW Post #7272 and Past Massachusetts VFW District 5 Commander. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards with his friends and especially time spent with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 42 years, he is survived by two daughters; Julie A. Sousa of Blackstone and Jill Duhaime of Uxbridge, three grandchildren; Andrew Sulfaro, Christina Sousa and Ryan Sousa, one brother George Duhaime of South Carolina, one sister Gloria Kelly of Millis and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Mary Alice Henderson.
Funeral services, with full military honors, will be held Tues. June 15, 2010 at 7 PM in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 101 N. Main St. (Rte. 122), Uxbridge, MA 01569.
Visiting hours will be held Tues. from 5-7 PM, prior to the service.
