Milford – Mary T. (Micelotta) Costrino, 90, of Whitcomb House died Wed. June 2, 2010 in Whitcomb House, Milford. She was the wife of the late Dr. Michael A. Costrino who passed away in 2006.
Mrs. Costrino was a licensed hairdresser for several years. She also, along with her husband, owned the former Micelotta’s Market on East Main St. in the late 1930’s.
Mrs. Costrino was born July 29, 1919 in Milford, the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Flonenca) Micelotta and was a graduate of Milford High School.
Mrs. Costrino was a lifelong Communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Milford and had taught 8th grade CCD at the church. She was a former member of the former Hoboken Women’s Club, Sacred Heart Women’s Club, the former Quinshipaug Women’s Club and the Milford Hospital Auxiliary, all in Milford. Mrs. Costrino enjoyed sewing, crocheting, painting, knitting and she loved to cook. She also enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Costrino is survived by two daughters; Carolyn L. and her husband James C. Webber of Milford and Marie E. and her husband Thomas C. Hegarty of Milford; four grandchildren; Michael Webber of Meadville, PA, Stephen Webber of Hopedale, Maria Dolder of Bow, NH and Thomas Hegarty of Walpole, nine great-grandchildren; Mackenzie Webber, Cade Webber, Shae Webber, Elizabeth Webber, Michael Webber, Nathaniel Dolder, Jared Dolder, Ryan Dolder and Lilah Hegarty and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Sat. June 5, 2010 at 9 AM from the BUMA-SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress St. Milford followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 10 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main St., Milford.
Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Medway Rd., Milford.
Calling hours will be Fri. June 4, 2010 from 5-7 PM in the funeral home.
