Hopedale – Myrna A. (Duffy) Hazard, 73, of Greene St. died Wednesday, March 3, 2010. She was the wife of Kenneth M. Hazard. They had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on New Year's Eve.
Mrs. Hazard was born June 26, 1936 in Riverview, New Brunswick the daughter of the late Herbert W. Duffy and Annie L. (Biggs) Duffy Tetlow and was a graduate of Milford High School. She moved to the United States as a young girl but maintained her love of Canada throughout her life.
Mrs. Hazard was a member of Union Evangelical Church, Hopedale. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends and butterflies. She also enjoyed music and played piano and hand bells. She will also be missed by her dog, Sunshine Lily, who never left her side during her illness.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter Glenda A. Hazard and her husband Joseph Fitzgerald of Hopedale, one brother Ross Duffy of Lawrence, KS and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother Sterling Duffy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 11 a.m in the Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress St., Milford. Interment will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery, Hopedale.
Visiting hours will be Friday March 5, 2010 from 5-7 p.m in the funeral home.
