Douglas — John H. Lane, 89, of 124 Martin Rd, Douglas, left this earth on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. 2 Cor. 5:1. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 64 years, Christine (Tine) Lane, his daughter Barbara Van Reed and her husband Cliff of Douglas, his daughter Magdalena Dakin and her husband Robert DeLange of Windham, NH, his son Henry Lane and his wife Faith of Whitinsville, his son Michael Lane and his wife Estela of Houlton, ME, and his son David Lane of Sutton. He also leaves eleven grandchildren: Sarah Nolan and her husband Doug Shore, Rachel Nolan, Ross Dakin and his wife Karen, Shane DeLange, Layna Dakin, Sonja DeLange, Hope Lane, Jessye Lane, Gabriel Lane, Jesse Lane, and Andrew Lane.



John was born in Ermelo, the Netherlands, on November 18, 1920. He moved with his family to Massachusetts in 1956, and was a longtime resident of Northbridge. He was employed for 25 years by George Meyers Manufacturing Co. in Worcester. He and his wife Christine, and their son David, enjoyed 22 years of retirement on Cape Cod. In 2001, they moved to Douglas.



Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 6th, at 12 Noon in the Buma Funeral Home, 480 Church St., Whitinsville, MA 01588. www.bumafuneralhome.com. Calling hours will be held from 11 AM until 12 Noon at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Whitinsville.
