Uxbridge - Edward J. Pavlis, 87, of S. Main St., died Mon. Jan. 4, 2010 in Milford Hospital. Husband of the late Virginia M. (Smith) Pavlis who died in 2004. Resident of Uxbridge since 1985. Previously lived 20 years in Rye, NY. U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He was employed as an underwriter for the former Home Insurance Co., NYC for 34 years retiring in 1984. A member of St. Mary’s Church and past member of Resurrection Church, Rye, NY. Graduate of City College of NY, NYC. He enjoyed following New York sports and UConn Women’s Basketball. Survived by 2 sons Edward J. Pavlis of Uxbridge and Michael J. Pavlis of Webster and 4 grandchildren including Stephanie Lihvarchik of Baltimore,MD, Andrea Hubalek of Albany, NY, Matthew Pavlis of Portland, ME, and Courtney Pavlis of Uxbridge. Funeral Mass Fri. Jan. 8, 2010 at 9 AM in St. Mary’s Church, 71 Mendon St., Uxbridge. Visiting hours Thurs. Jan. 7, 2010 from 5 – 7 PM in BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 101 N. Main St., Rte. 122, Uxbridge.
