Edward A. Weir Jr.

Millville – Edward A. Weir Jr. 62, of Killiney Woods died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009 at his home. He was the husband of Sharyn C. (Hicks) Weir.

Mr. Weir was employed for 24 years as a Plumber for Millis Plumbing Co. in Millis until his retirement in 2001.

Mr. Weir was born January 29, 1947 in Newton, son of the late Edward A. and Doris T. (Nickerson)Weir Sr. He was a graduate of Ashland High School, Class of 1965.

Mr. & Mrs. Weir observed their 41st wedding anniversary on August 3, 2009 (1968).
Mr. Weir was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnamese Service Medal, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal and the Meritorious Masters Medal.

Mr. Weir was a member of the Christ Community Church in Blackstone and the V.F.W. Post in Ashland. Edward enjoyed photography and loved being with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Weir is survived by two daughters Jennifer L. Weir and her fiancée, Bryan Gruttadauria, both of Millville, Nichole S. and her husband Richard Baisden of Anchorage Alaska; one sister Sandra and her husband Thomas Bengiovanni of Bellingham; and 5 grandchildren Jacob A. Baisden, Lily R. Baisden, Michael R. Boldy, Matthew E. Boldy and Jack Gruttadauria and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services with Full Military Honors will be held Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010 at 2 PM in the Christ Community Church, Church St., Blackstone, MA 01504.

Interment will be at a later date in Blackstone Cemetery, Mendon St., Blackstone.
